Oct 1, 2005 Transit Report

Days are getting cooler and the snow will soon be starting to fall. This is the time to schedule getting your snow tires put on your vehicle. It’s important across the state of Colorado but especially if you plan to do any driving in the mountains, and over any of our mountain passes.
Colorado Department of Transportation requires specific winter tires, all-weather tires, or tires for mud and snow with a minimum tread depth of 3/16 of an inch, regardless of tire type.
Vehicles need four-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
An approved alternative traction device would be tire chains.
So get your car ready for the winter. And when you’re out there on the road, check COTrip.org for current weather and road conditions.
